Seeing a Saab 95 sure being a trip down memory for those who have seen this vehicle when it was first launched in 1959. It is a two-door station wagon that has a seating capacity made for seven people. Mass production of this car really started in 1960, because only 40 units were manufactured in 1959. Saab 95 parts were originally copied from the Saab 93 sedan model but the next years saw it becoming more related to the Saab 96. The reason for this was that the 93 was discontinued in 1960, prompting the company to find a new platform to base their 95 design with. The car started with an 841 cc three-cylinder two-stroke engine but it was later replaced by a V4 four-stroke Ford Taunus engine in 1967. This configuration was also used by several Saab vehicles such as the 93, Sonett V4 and the Sonett III. The operation of the Saab 95 was made possible by a four-speed manual transmission system. 1976 saw a major design change in terms of seating arrangement for this station wagon. The designers got rid of the rear-facing folding seat to reduce the vehicle into a five-seater automobile. Two years later, the Saab 95 was officially cut-off from the Saab list with only 110,527 units manufactured. But did you know that there is a delivery van version of the 95 that was distributed in Denmark and Norway? The seats and side windows on the back portion of the car was completely eliminated.
